After two years of teaching elementary school, Dr. Lorna McFarland returned to Berkeley and Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania to finish her pre-medical training. Dr. McFarland began her medical school training at the University of California, San Francisco, then completed her residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Brooks received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Morehouse College and his M.D. degree from Howard University College of Medicine and completed a residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital-Oakland. He practiced in the undeserved communities of North Oakland and Richmond for four years before accepting a pediatric position at the Watts Health Care Corporation where he is presently Associate Medical Director and Chief of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, and Chairman of the Quality Management Committee.
